Autumn Days Are Here Again!

Pretty Leaves
Pretty leaves are falling down,
Green, orange, yellow and brown.
Here comes one colored red,
It landed on my head.

Pumpkins in the cornfields
Gold among the brown
Leaves of rust and scarlet
Trembling slowly down
Birds that travel southward
Lovely time to play
Nothing is as pleasant
As an autumn day!

No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace
as I have seen in one autumnal face

Autumn quote by John Donne

 Hello Parents!

Welcome to Loving Little Ones!

We are a private in-home non-licensed family daycare.

(Just starting the process of becoming Registered & Licensed)

 A LITTLE WARNING:

I don't do this profession to become rich, live in a huge home or own the most expensive items. . .

I do this because the smile and laughter of each child tickles my heart and makes me smile and that in itself is worth more money than all the money in the United States of America!

* I will provide childcare that is above standards so that you get the most for your money.

* I will also do my best to always provide myself with training and courses so that my knowledge about childcare is up to date and always current.

* I will respect you as a parent on your decisions regarding your child (ren) and will follow your guidelines as long as they are safe and within reason of the law.

**Safe and Reliable Childcare is NOT Expensive - It is Priceless!**

  Parental Involvement:

There will be times and ways you can get involved in your child’s child care experience.

You are welcomed and encouraged to participate in any or all of these.

Some examples of ways to be involved to include:

*Coming in and having lunch with your child.

*Sending in their special toy for show and tell day

*Helping with birthday parties or holiday parties.

*Coming in and reading a story at story time.

I maintain an open door policy for parents.  This

means that you are always welcome to call or drop in

to see your child(ren) at any time during regular

          child care hours.

Open door policy does NOT mean

that my door will be kept unlocked.

I believe that

it is extemely important to keep the doors locked

for the safety of the children. I do not want

unwanted or unexpected visitors to enter without

          my permission or knowledge.

I also do not want the children to get curious and try leaving the house

on their own.

Your child’s safety is my first priority!

The Child Care Provider:

   Although I'm not their mother,
I care for them each day.

I cuddle, sing, and read to them,
And watch them as they play.

I see each new accomplishment,
and help them grow and learn,

I understand their language,
and I listen with concern.

They come to me for comfort,
And I kiss away their tears
.
They proudly show their work t
o me,
I give the loudest cheers!
No, I am not their mother
,
But my role is just as strong.
I nurture them and keep them safe,
Though maybe not for long
.
I know someday the time may come,
When we will have to part,

But I know each child I've cared for
Is forever in my heart

How To Choose a Childcare Provider:

SELECTING CHILD CARE: A Guide for Parents

Every child in Indiana deserves a safe, healthy and nurturing environment....Good Beginnings Last a Lifetime!

When searching for a child care setting that will meet your child’s needs as well as your family’s needs:

Think about what kind of child care setting you are interested in for your child. Child Care homes and centers vary in size, training of staff and daily activity programs for children. Ask if a child care home or center is licensed or registered by the Indiana  Department of Health and Environment. Child care regulations reduce predictable risks to children when beingcared for in the child care setting. Child care regulations also provide consumer protection for you and your child.

*Ask to see the child care license or certificate which will tell you the type of license or certificate held and the maximum number of children that may be enrolled.

*Ask to review the Notice of Survey Findings provided to the facility showing the results of the latest inspection. Licensed facilities are inspected at least once every 12 months.

*Visit different child care settings - look and listen -

*Is the child care home or center a busy, happy place with clean, uncluttered space, sturdy play equipment and a variety of play materials? Are activities conducted both inside and outside? Are poisons and other dangerous substances locked up? Is there room for children to engage in active play, quiet play and rest?

*Are children encouraged to express themselves and satisfy their curiosity? Are they actively engaged in activities? Do the children appear to be enjoying themselves? Are the children welcomed? What do the children do in a typical day? Are the children given choices among activities that are appropriate for the age range of children in care?

*Are the adults working with the children warm, accepting and understanding of children? Are the adults supervising the children well and at the same time enjoying their time with the children? Are the adults educated and trained to work with children?

*How many children are in care? How many adults work with a group of children? A smaller number of young children in a group is the most beneficial in meeting each child’s needs.

*Are child care practices like discipline or napping similar to your beliefs and practices? Are children encouraged to learn self-control? How often are children in diapers changed? How do the adults in the program include you in your child’s time in care?

*What basic services are provided by the program? What type of meals are served to the children? Does the program provide transportation services?

*After visiting several programs, choose the program that will best meet the needs of your children and your family.

Our Philsophy Statement:

I believe that children need to experience a multitude of activities and experiences for them to learn, grow and blossom into healthy, mature, young adults. I try very hard at providing them with as many learning activities as possible. I incorporate many things into our day of fun. I like to take field trips, go out to lunch once a month, and just spend time learning about the world around us.

Children need time to experience the world around them. They need time to use their imaginations and play with other children.

This is how children learn and grow!
